The ultimate tow vehicle! I found it!

People on the forum often argue about the best tow vehicle. Their arguments are almost always based on good sense. You won't get that here.

My choice for the ultimate tow vehicle: The Earth Roamer XV-LTS

https://www.earthroamer.com/jpg/xvlts_big.jpg

Here is a description from the web site: (Insert Tim Allen home improvement noises here)

The EarthRoamer XV-LTS is built on the new 2011 6.7 liter Power Stroke Turbo Diesel (660 lb-ft torque and 300 hp) powered Ford F-550 chassis with an 84 inch cab to axle and GVWR of 19,500 pounds. This chassis is 24 inches longer than our XV-LT model which increases primary camper living space by a whopping 25% and interior storage space by up to 45%. The extra length enables us to offer new interior layout options including booth seating and sleeping for 6, or a dry bath with a separate toilet and shower. Battery capacity can be increased up to 18.3 kilowatt hours and solar capacity can be increased up to 680 watts. If you need more power we can install a compact generator. Fresh water capacity up to 117 gallons is available, and 13 gallons of 100 degree hot water is standard.

The EarthRoamer XV-LTS body features a seamless, one piece molded monocoque design that is strong and lightweight. This is the same construction that is used on many luxury yachts as well as our patented EarthRoamer XV-LT bodies. Yes, it is challenging and expensive to manufacture a one piece molded composite body, but with no seams to leak and no glued together flat panels to come apart, EarthRoamer bodies are designed to last for your lifetime and beyond.(Oh yeah!)

They say the thing is good to tow 10,000 lbs. You can get them in silver, so I know I'll be making a good impression when I blast down the road towing the 27' International CCD I've got my eye on!

You know those guys with the big Prevosts who smirk when I drive by with my 19' Bambi? They'll be lining up for a tour, or pulling out of the park in embarrassment.

You got kids? They sleep in the Roamer, you got the Airstream all to yourself.

You're tired of driving? Hand off the wheel to your partner and slip into the camper for a little shut eye. Or, hell, have a couple of beers! If you close the pass-through door it's legal!

I ain't never stopping once I get my hands on one of these babys!

Wait, what? It's $250,000?

Never mind.

That web site has some very interesting travel journals! It covers some of the evolution of the vehicle.

Where's the "like" button?

It's obvious that I've been on facebook too much when I look for a button to click on to show that I concur!!!

I checked these out about a year ago and it looked like the company had gone out of business. The last couple of builds the factory had done sold for far less than their normal sales price. Ironically, I'd checked these out after reading a science fiction story in which the characters traversed a post apocalyptic landscape in the roamer only to find out that it was not plague resistant. $250k down the tubes......

Oy! The used ones on consignment (with the exception of the little cheap) each cost more than I've ever paid for a HOUSE.

Wow, thats odd...this ending up on the 'Forums...

One of my co-workers has one of these as his daily commuter vehicle...

Here is a website that the previous owners used to document their Round the World travel...

Introduction

It's a Massive vehicle! There is no way he can sneak into work late...
