Hensley Hitch Value
I'm new to the forum. I've been reading a lot about hitches both on here and from other sources. My wife and I are getting ready to do some traveling. We have bought the tow vehicle and have been shopping around for AS for a couple of years now. We are considering a 25FB, 27FB or the 28 footer. We are hoping this spring will be the spring we spring for the AS. Along with the trailer, we will be purchasing a weight distribution hitch. I have towed many many trailers in the past, from little 2,000 lb'ers to 7,000 lb car haulers. However, I have never had a WDH before. So my question to you more experienced tow-ers would be, is the Hensley hitch worth the extra dollars? I realize opinions vary, so I would particularly like to hear opinions from those of you who have towed with the Hensley as well as with some other brand. I apologize if this has already been discussed here, but searching for Hensley brings up a lot of reading to sort through.

Disregard for now. I found a thread titled "To Hensly or not" I'll read through that one. Thanks anyway.

You can save a few bucks by buying a factory refurb from Hensley. I recommend either a Hensley or a Propride.

Love our ProPride. It made all the difference in the world.

I think having a heavy tow vehicle or not has some impact on the "need" for these hitches.. I just drove our 28 down from PA to FL with a 99 F350 crew DRW 7.3L and a friction style hitch and it went flawlessly... The only time I felt any real sway was when I was being passed by 2 semi's on either side of me simultaneously. Nothing to serious though... Someday I'll buy a propride when I get enuff bucks saved up!

ProPride is my favorite but Hensley works as well....

I think the technology warrants all to use these type of hitches if they can afford them...
