I have a confession to make, To me this HUGE!!

This has been weighing on me for some time. I love my Stream but there are things that I don't LOVE about it.

1. The dark walls. I wish I would have gotten the Flying cloud,..for many reasons. Example, The dark walls will fade quicker and show dust more. Also they make the stream feel smaller and dark. There I said it!!!!

2. The ugly terry cloth cushions. I can't stand terry cloth. I can change that, but I hate to spend close to 1,000+ changing a new Airstream.

3. Wish I would have gotten the 27 Flying Cloud FB. It would have been the same $$$ wise but the only and major drawback would have been it wouldn't have fit on our property and we would have to pay storage and I can't mess with it or look at it when I wanted.

Otherwise, things are awesome.

I'll just have to live with these imperfections.

I had to share.

Thanks for the support, or the tounge lashing I'm about to recieve.

I know, spilled milk.

Shane, you are tore up tonight. Missing an old Argosy, eyeballing beat-up trailers in fields, feeling like you're STUCK with a 2010 International CCD. DUDE! Just say'in...

ASwifey 12-29-2010 10:01 PM

Shane, we had the CCD 25FB too. I do know what you mean about all that dark wood, and the dark upholstry.

So change it. Replace the upholstry, change out the curtains. We did, and loved the results. Life's too short to be unhappy with your Airstream.

We ended up selling ours, we decided that we wanted a bigger trailer, and I love the Flying Cloud interior. But I couldn't have been happier with the changes we had made to our CCD.

Good luck.....

Among other things, a clear case of "two-foot-itis".

And another one!

Folks, have you ever heard anyone say that they wished they had bought a shorter trailer? No, I didn't think so... ;)

Even If I DID buy the 27 I probably complain that I couldn't have it at the house. Plus paying endless storage fees. The 25 IS the ONLY decision to make in my situation. Now, if I could fit the 27 on my property...well thats another ball of wax.

Then I need to say it.. Bought my 69 29 footer in in 1972. While I still have it, I bought a 21 footer in about 1980 because the 29 was a too limiting in some of the places we like to camp.
We currently use the 24 foot tradewind most of the time and have found it, at least for us, to be a good compromise of size and still being able to increase the site availability in National parks and forests.

Rick, THREE trailers!? :D

You might have 74-foot-itis! https://www.airforums.com/attachments...ddad56fd5f.gif

I guess length matters. Sal.

We went with the Flying Cloud (27FB), mostly because it was a '09 and was discounted after being on the lot for a year.

We looked hard at the CCD, and the 25 FB. I loved the dark interior, and the idea of having my AS look like a cool cigar and scotch bar inside was very tempting. But I get what you are saying, too.

We are happy with the FC, but I still wonder about the CCD.

As far as length, if it makes you feel any better, the only difference is the direction the bed is turned. No more space in the living area.

Maybe you just have a slight case of post-purchase blues. Make it your trailer a little at a time and have fun. After all, it is a new AS and what you wanted, right?

I feel ya brotha - I have the Safari, but I like the overhead cabinets on the CCD better... the dark wood not so much (liked the black better than the wenge). Really want to torture yourself? look at the Serenity or the soon to be available "Eddie Bauer" edition.

I've been tempted by the 27 too, but frankly customization beats trading from a cost perspective.

"A sewing machine is a power tool" Take classes and you'll be surrounded by women.... Make those curtains and upholstery pieces dude!

Shane, as you already know, being able to have your AS in your yard is gold. Considered reducing the size of your house?:D:lol::D

It's a big deal, having your rig at home so you can go out and play with it anytime you want to.

And it's ok that you've started to look forward to your next Airstream, even if you've not meant to...lots of us do that - way before we are in the least bit unsatisfied. Kind of the way Jimmy Carter used to lust "in his heart". Revel in it.
