Tub removal in 1960 tradewind
2 Attachment(s)
Good morning! We are in the process of removing the bathroom in our Tradewind so that Colin Hyde and fix the floor and chassis. How do you get the tub out? Do you have to remove the wall (has a full bed on the other side)? It feels like there is one more screw somewhere that I just can't find! Arrrgghh! My husband thinks he feels one more screw in the center of the wall directly under the faucet area so he is thinking just to drill a hole to access it-it is in the storage area of the full bed. What does everyone think?

That trim piece around the tub needs to come out and the tube is either screwed or riveted to the wall - can't remember which... you will need to remove the drain - it may be rusted on the trap below - in my case someone tried to fix the tub with epoxy and it was glued to the floor - in my case it was a crowbar...

the metal trim along the top of the tub sides are full of rivets that go into the wall also. the front skirt also likely is screwed to that wood nailer on the floor. also don't forget to remove the strainer plate on the drain. Take your time and don't fore it and it'll come out.
