Can't figure this out

1 Attachment(s)
Hello fellow Airstreamers.

I don't know how this happened but the steps to my 73 Sovereign are stuck in a weird position and I can't get them to go back to normal. Does anybody have a solution?

I posted a pic at https://tinyurl.com/c8k5qt or https://www.airforums.com/photos/show...mageuser=16306
and I would be grateful if somebody let me know how to fix this.

Thanks!

Wally

streamdreame,
The little lever to the right of your top step has to be pulled/pushed to release the the top step. Then you should be able to properly stowe your steps.

The lever wouldn't move one bit as it was stuck between the step and the bottom of the door. I removed the silver button on the lever with an hex key which gave me enough leeway to move the lever. Voila!

U should not feel alone. If I have not operated the steps for 2 weeks I forget how. Lub all joints helps some ,just don't get frustrated. U will get it.Fold it back up and start over,it will come to ya.

The door could open. I meant to say it was stuck between the step and the body of the trailer so the lever wouldn't move neither up nor down.

The stairs are aluminum the pivot points, tracks and attachment points are subject to wear causing the whole stair unit to become loose and sloppy and possible bind and get stuck.
