Engine Noise Level

The engine is pretty noisy in the front compartment, especially when going uphill (full throttle). Is it normal? Is there a way to reduce the noise level?
Thanks for help.

Make sure the insulation on the inside of the dog house is in good shape. Does the doghouse seal well?

Make sure that you don't have an exhaust leak.

The only time the engine is very noticeable in my rig is when the fan clutch engages. (loud fan sound).

My rig was much noisier before I re-carpeted the cockpit and put down heavy padding.

Thanks for the answer.

This is correct, the noise increases each time the fan is clutched. In the 1994 version, the front air intake is very small and there is a huge fan to bring air from the outside inside the engine compartment. In summer time on Interstate at 60 miles per hour, the fan is clutched 50% of the time.

I use to have an exhaust leak that has been fixed. And it is still noisy.

The "dog house" seems pretty well sealed.
