Endeavour Launch
The last night before arrival back home in Fort Lauderdale travelling through the panhandle we heard on CNN a space launch tonight at 6:38pm so we ran to our last night stop at Space Coast RV resort near the Cape. It was also our wedding anniversary. We arrived exactly 5 minutes before launch after 9 hours on the road. An amazing site to see knowing that humans were being rocketed into outer space right in front of your eyes. We saw the seperation of the fuel tanks and felt the sonic vibrations as the shuttle passed over our heads. We had no idea of the launch only just catching the announcement by chance.:)

A Shuttle launch is an awesome sight and the physical sensations are never forgotten. Some of life's best experiences just happen when we least expecting it.

Shuttle and shuttling
Judy here. Thanks for all of the good wishes and comments. We have just completed a 5 1/2 week, 8900 mile trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Anacortes, Wa. and back. Way too many miles in too short a period of time. We didn't get to stop and smell the roses much, but at least we got to see the roses as we drove past Americana, with the shuttle launching being a wonderful grand finale. We have lots of great places and insights to share, which we hope to in the immediate future. Meanwhile, bills and 2,274 emails to attend. Makes me want to re-hitch and westward ho again.
