has anyone had to clean day/night shades?
Any how to ideas?

Bina, other than vacuuming lightly, I don't know. I think dust would be the chief dirt factor with the flinds. Hopefully, if anyone has used another method, she'll post details here. Good luck!

I have only spot cleaned smooched bug stains with K2R. I usually carry a can for upholstery too or whatever that I do not launder. It sprays on wet turns to a powder then you brush it off. I see they make a pen now too.

We vaccumm them and also brush them. Its really a pain when the string breaks, not impossibe just a pain.

cleaning

Actually the manual has a page for cleaning the shades. you remove them, make a board that they will fit on full open and wash/wipe them until clean spot clean as needed.
Next job after the floor is in.

Thanks for this thread

Oh I am so glad this thread was posted, our day night shades are "a disgrace" :o I had been warned not to vac them at some point on the forum, maybe it was because I might break the string, which has been done, gotta figure out how to fix that...I will try the wipe down--thanks Bina, and for the k2r thanks for the link Carol and to all for the thread!:flowers:
