alumaloy
Have any of you seen the tv infomercial on the Alumaloy product!..it's amazing and spectacular!..you can buy 1 pound of Alumaloy rods for $45. With a regular propane torch, you can clean the base metal, heat to 728, then repair using the rods..it's welding made simple, or at least it looks like it..and the tutorial for the infomercial is narrated by a woman who guides the viewer through the repairs!..even lost rivet holes can me fixed using these special rods..:).have any of you tried this?

2024-T3 is not a weldable alloy. If the product sounds to good to be true it most likely is. I would be very leary

I think you are talking about something like this stuff.
https://sierranevadaairstreams.org/me...cornerweld.jpg it is effectively brazing, not welding. This example is not a good one (it was more of a test from one very rusty in the trade). You need very clean surfaces and plenty of surface area for this to have much strength. |
Hi Bryan,
After reading some reviews: https://www.ytmag.com/toolt/messages/115974.html I think it's one of those too good to be true things too!!..sure looked good on the commercial though! |
Like dude said on that link you posted...might work for lawn chairs. I'll add skinny people lawn chair owners.
