New Thermocouple not the answer

I just changed the thermocoupler in my Dometic fridge because the pilot doesn't stay lit. It still doesn't stay lit. Could it be because I had my main gas tanks changed over to the new valves? I'm lending the trailer out today & they won't have any electric, so I thought it would be nice to use the gas. It worked before I changed over the tanks. Any suggestions for me to try before they take off? Thanks,

Becky.

The thermocouple must be tightened very securely, like "TIGHT".

Also, it "must" be in the flame, not just close to it.

If that doesn't do it, then you could have several problems.

1. The LPG pressure is to low.
2. The flame is too low.
3. The Reefer gas valve itself, is bad.

You may have got some air in the system when you changed the tank valves. I usually light a burner on the hob to clear any air in the system, before attempting to light the water heater or fridge pilot lights. Try the hob burner trick, and get the water heater pilot going, before making several tries with the fridge. It may take some time to clear the air.
Nick.

Thanks Andy. I just ran out and cranked down on the thermocoupler "tight" and it now stays lit. I've always been taught not to overtighten, but here it doesn't apply! The happy campers can now take off to the Oshkosh Airshow and have some cold beers!
