Congrats! And Welcome!

I like your fabricated crossmember. With a welder you can make anything. Most of my crossmembers were so rusted I couldn't use them for patterns. You doing shell on or off...it looks like you've got your belly off and working from the bottom.

Starting with the bottom cleaning and painting the frame insulation then removing the interior skins to remove mouse crap , the camper is useable condition we camped 3 times . Iím not putting the tanks underneath trying to make a 4 season camper planing on camping in Michigan over Christmas weak to test it out 😃

This might be a silly question but what tool did you use to cut out the rear member? Also were you planning on replacing any of the rotted 2x4s?

1972 05-02-2021 03:51 AM

I used a grinder and thin wheel or cut off wheel , the 2x4 s are bad only about 3Ē I will install a new one right beside the existing one , and add weld a new bracket to the new ibem or cross member and attach the outher end to the frame cross member about 5 feet long I will not have to replace the plywood or frame off just the vary back 6 inches of plywood I will try to post more next week
