caulk on bare inside walls questions ????

We have everything out. We want to caulk around old windows, doors, seems, and rivets. We are replacing caulk and are adding new.
? One. Does anyone know what the original caulk was or is?

? Two. What kind of caulk do I need to use?

By any chance does it come in a bucket?

Thank you, and have a great day.

Just about everything you need to know is found here, but, of course, this being the forums there are more opinions than avatars and threads abound:

Don't use normal caulk on your airstream! One of the biggest pains in tearing down an airstream for a rebuild is removing 50 years of caulk upon caulk upon caulk from previous owners (unsuccessfully) chasing leaks.

Here is a link to the proper "goos" for all things Airstream...

But the most important thing is dealing with issues properly, not just slapping goo over the top of something and *hoping* it works. Butyl tape between layers of metal is often the proper way to seal something up, but that requires disassembling things, sealing them properly, then putting things back together. It's like your grandpa always said: do it right the first time!

Well I was Wondering if anyone else tore out all that caulk. So this makes me feel better. Yes we are tearing out and also replacing, also using butyl tape, and trying very hard to do it correctly. Not that we will have it for another 50 years but it might be around. Thank you for the advice.
