Dash Cams 2

I did not want to start a new thread however after reading the threads and reviews on the web I am more confused then ever regarding which dash cams to place in my truck. I am looking for one:

That would capture both front and rear
Not difficult to install myself (Preferrably no long wires to hide)
One that will work in all weather and not be effective by the heat when the truck is not in use.

I have a 2012 F250 Diesel (no wifi) with the 4 switches on the front panel but none are in use. That said I would have no idea how to connect a dash cam to one of them.

Thank you

BlackVue makes a great cam. Super easy to install. It has built in WIFI which makes retrieving videos easy to do. I have a GMC 2500. Parking view is nice also. It takes time lapse video while parked. If something happens it save the video.

After reading the recent threads concerning the need for a dash-cam, I, too, drove myself crazy trying to decide what to get. After reading a ton of reviews, I ordered an Apeman dual dash cam yesterday- with a 128mb card, the order was right at $100.00 off Amazon.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a positive review soon-

128MB will not go very far, did you mean 128GB?

I've been looking too. What I've learned is dash cameras touting wifi are best avoided. The apps, developed by the Chinese manufacturer that need to be downloaded to you phone to enable the wifi function, are a huge security risk. They demand permissions well beyond what's needed and likely are sending extensive personal data to their home servers.

The safe alternative is to simply remove the SD card and copy the video files to a laptop. However sometimes the camera is set up to record to proprietary file types a regular computer cannot open. This necessitating the insecure phone app. Make sure the camera records in .mp4, or .mov formats for laptop compatibility.

I'd also seek to avoid the suction cup mount design as they always eventually fail and fall, at least in my experience. One design has the camera attached by a magnet, a potential projectile in case of accident.

Which dash cam do you recommend? Thanks!
