Solar monitor CAT5 prewire?
Now that the major parts of my solar is up and running. Working on the remote monitor. Anyone use the cat5 prewire from the buss area? It says the other end can be found below the tank monitor.

Anyone have tips or hints here? Do I just pull the tank monitor and I should see it in the wall?

I've repurposed the CAT5 cable with the Blue Sky IPN Pro remote. The CAT5 cable includes 4 twisted pairs. I used one twisted pair for the shunt connection, and two of the twisted pairs to create a 4-pin RJ-11 connection for data. I left one of the pairs unused.

Yes, just pull the monitor and fish around with your hand.

I carefully cut a rectangle in the aluminum with a Dremel, I've read that other folks use a Multitool. That was my biggest fear in the entire installation!

Thank you. That's exactly the info I need.

I took the face off the tank monitor and there is the cat5 cable ready for my solar remote panel. Both ends of the cat5 are un-terminated. Dug around my electronics tool kit and had the right terminals and crimper. Made quick work fo it all.

There's also a handy phone cable marked and ready for an inverter.

Pic of my completed solar monitor install. The cat5 prewire sure is handy.

3" holesaw to cut the interior skin to fit the MT-50 monitor.

Next project will be an inverter.
