310 inline fuse for fog lamps
Do any of you know if there is an inline fuse for the fog lamps on a 310? Mine are new and have been working fine until yesterday. Checked all my fuses in the chassis fuse block, all good. Ahhhhhhhh the dreaded headlight circuit. Mine are activated by pulling out the headlight sw to the first position (running lights no headlights) and then throwing the AUX switch on the dash. Could be the sw, it was stiff when I was installing the new fog lights. The light on the AUX dash switch does come on when the sw is turned on.

I poked around looking under the dash tracing the wire from the light switch to the toggle switch to the fire wall and didnt see anything. A bit rainy here today so Ill investigate more on the outside when we get back home.

Any fusing should be placed within a close proximity to the power source, like a battery. I would concentrate on looking there, within 18" if NEC was followed. I seriously doubt that any other more stringent code was followed when the built your unit.

Happy hunting! :D

Mine is wired with a 3-wire relay on the road-side under the front hood. Power comes from a wire at the battery isolator, with a glass inline fuse holder in between, connects to right (curb-side) of relay. Metal housing is mounting grounded. 12v signal wire comes from dash fog light switch (powered by headlight switch) connects to road-side of relay. When engergized, center white wire powers foglights. Wiring diagram on page G-11 of service manual.

Mike, In case you missed it and you do need a new switch, I finally did identify the only replacement for the on/off switches among thousands of switches:
RSC241D1B2R E-Switch | Switches | DigiKey

Thanks again Ray. It warmed up enough to do a little work outside today so I took your info and traced the wiring for the fog lamps. It was just as you descibed. Fuse was good. The problem was just a loose connector at the relay. Easy fix.......that never happens :)
