In just over two years I hope to be taking my two daughters to France to celebrate the 100 year anniversary for the battle of Vimy Ridge 9 April 1917 as part of their Canadian heritage.

I will also be honouring mine, as one grandfather was transporting troops in Southern England in preparation for D-Day, another was in charge of all logistics for North Africa, Greece, Italy and the Med. My great Uncle was a Lancaster bomber pilot for one tour, then re-upped for the Pathfinders, first in Lancs and then Mosquitoes; his wife was a Bombe operator/instructor girl at the English code breaking facility at Bletchley Park.

As a Royal Marine with combat in the Falklands at just over 17 years old, where we also made an amphibious assault against a defender, but 12,000 kms away from the white cliffs of Dover. I won't get into the rest of my adventures. I don't take any offence at your sons stance. I just enjoyed it for what it was, and I wish him a very long life.:)
