Dump valve problem! 72' Overlander

1 Attachment(s)
When I pull the valve open it doesn't let anything out. I tried blasting water from a hose from the outside but it didn't seem to do anything. I bought some desolving packets to see if it will break down the waste. Could be a clog for all I know. This is the first time it hasn't worked. We let the waste out every week.

Perhaps the handle/rod has come lose from the slide gate. Therefore the gate remains closed.
There should be some resistance when you pull the handle.

How would I fix it if it were broken. It's full at the moment.

Depends on how control rod broke....or came loose from the 'slide'...

You need to have access from BENEATH the trailer.. in line with the 'release/control rod'. There should be an 'access panel' there. Loosen screws, remove plate and have a look inside. If there is no access, you will need to cut one.. carefully.

If you are uncomfortable with tools, it is time to bring in a 'pro'.... there are 'mobile' RV techs who will come to you... and I bet they could help you out quicker than we could here.... just saying... Unless you feel you are really up to the task... then, let's figure it out.

To cut the access panel, you will need a short jig saw or sheet metal cutting tool so you can CREATE a panel opening.

Hope this helps... get back to us quickly...

Edit!!!
I was able to get to a pc to see your picture... looks like you have access. Can you see where the rod connects?

The screws are blocked by the floor. If I were to replace it how can I not have a black tank explosion?

I can't quite get the panel off because of some screws. I need to get a different tool to get at the right angle. I'll take it off and submit another picture.

I was able to cut the panel off assuming the valve was broken. It wasn't. The valve is so clogged that it won't let anything out. I'm going to grab a drain snake to try and get it loose.

Gloves, goggles, old clothes. Don't envy you on this mess...

It was really easy. We took an auger and ran it up the sewage pipe. It pulled the clog out and then we were able to flush the tank out several times to get rid of anything. We will probably flush 2 times a week for a month just to make sure another clog doesn't form.

Ah, good. I had imagined an explosion of a&&! In a confined area.

TMI, I know. 😉
