1963 Bambi Refrigerator Removal

Any ideas on how I would go about performing a 1963 Bambi Refrigerator Removal. HELP!
Thanks

I would use a BIG BIG hammer!

While gdanderson would use a big, big hammer, I would take a gentler approach. If there is access to the back of the fridge, remove it & look for bolts holding it to the floor. Some people with Bambi's may chime in, but don't use the hammer....there is a way to get it out without destroying things :-)

Hammer

Greg,
Since this is a Bambi, I have decided to use my Grandson's Toy Hammer instead of a Big Big Hammer.

It really isn't hard to remove and you don't need a hammer! Turn off the propane at the bottle. Remove the propane connection at the bottom of the fridge, then open the top of the stove and remove the stove top propane connection. Unscrew four screws that hold down the stove top to the fridge located inside the stovetop. The stovetop lifts up and out. My 1961 had a vent pipe to unscrew but I don't know if the 63 has one. The hardest part is unscrewing the four bolts that hold the fridge down at the "feet" of the fridge. Once they are removed you can slide it out inside the trailer.

Refrigerator Removal

I removed the 4 bolts, but it appears that the refrigerator frame is rusted to the frame legs. It will not budge. It appears that the frame legs are bolted to the floor with two bolts. If I somehow go thru the pan to unbolt these two bolts, will it just slide out of the vent duct work at the back of the unit under the rear window and the counter top? Or should I continue to try to remove the unit from the feet bracket somehow?

I was thinking ... I am assuming you have the original fridge and you may not. Is there a drawer under the fridge? This drawer is commonly removed because the newer fridges are larger. The fridge pictured here 1963 Bambi 16' - Vintage Airstream doesn't have the drawer. The fridge pictured here does. 1961 Bambi 16' - Vintage Airstream The second picture also has the original fridge.

Refrigerator Removal

Yes!
Finally got it out this weekend. Come to find out, someone decided to use "hidden" screws to lag it to the cabinet. I had to work blindly, by touch alone to finally remove the screws. Now a no brainer. Like everyone said, a few bolts and it should come out. It should of, and now it will in the future.
Thanks for all of the help.
Regards,
StevieB
