Yes, it's the Rapid City flood of 1972. The monument stands in a beautiful downtown park in the floodplain of Rapid Creek. In my opinion Googling is OK but I didn't set the rules. The fun, I believe, is in the sharing of information, and there has been plenty on this thread.

That looks like Capulin Volcano Nat Monument in Northeastern New Mexico.

Nope. But it is part of the National Park system.

#1307: I believe John beat me to it--looks like the view out to Candlestick Tower from the Island in the Sky Road, looking southwest across the Green River toward the Orange Cliffs and The Spur, running north of the Maze district, and on which sits the "bouncy" road to Horseshoe Canyon and its pictographs.

It is in the Island in the Sky district of the Canyonlands, but to get full credit, you must identify this formation.

I'm not sure if there is a name for this particular formation, but it is a part of the area known as the Garden of Eden.
