    Hi SailFaster,
I am posting this again.....not sure how the website works......
I was wanting to know if you were available to inspect a 1969 Sovereign in Seguin, Texas? What do you charge? We are looking at the AS but we are novices. The interior looks good. The floor looks great BUT it looks like it's been installed OVER the original carpet. I'm pretty sure that is the case.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hi SailFaster -
Are you available as a trailer inspector? I'm in town from Colorado to visit/pay for and arrange pick up of a '76 31' International I purchased on Ebay. I'm a total novice at this and could really use a wing man (read: pilot) to make sure that going through with this is a good financial move. (I purchased a '69 globetrotter a couple of months ago and haven't seen it since it went into rehab (it arrived in much worse shape than communicated).

Its like an arranged marriage - this buying on Ebay - I'd sure like a second opinion before getting hitched to Mr. Wonderful only to discover he has more baggage than I'd bargained for.

Hello, just wondering how you are doing with your Airstream?

I've found an Airstream I want (78 31' Excella Rear Bedroom) that appears to have been sitting in the same place since 1998, at least that's the last time it was licensed and there is a small tree growing right in front of the door so I know it's been a long time since anyone has been in it, who know's what suprises are on the inside but besides being dirty on the outside, it's in great shape, no dents or dings. I just need to find the owner and see if they are willing to sell. It's sitting next to a small Apt complex and I'm guessing the Apt owner also owns the Airstream. Hoping to get it real cheap as long as there is not major damage on the inside.

    Thanks,

    Kris

The story was / is that I got this to be my temporary living quarters while I did some out of state work. Thought I could live in it and just spiff up the interior in my spare time. Hah!

That took me to Pensacola FL, and right after I arrived, I went to the CanOpener rally at Top Sail State Park, Santa Rosa Beach FL. What a hoot! Great people with lots of ideas. I could see the realm of the possible.

Quickly found that my fresh water plumbing was not usable...

I started this project about December 2010. Came to this forum for a tid bit or two from time to time. Very useful, yet still I found myself re-inventing the wheels that so many of you have found and certified to be round.

Lately, I've been stricken by the Airstream religion - yes, the ever expanding obsession with refurbishing a vintage Airstream has now consumed me. What started as a project to clean up a what-seemed-to-be-in-great-shape 31' rear-bath Sovereign is now a full blown...
