Hi Jim, I am looking at importing, a '74 Sovereign 31',
1974 Airstream International Sovereign 31' - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale
The price seems good but it costs $14,000 to ship to Australia, but owning an airstream has always been a dream. I noticed on a previous forum you warned about the 1970's 31' airstreams having a 4" frame that you mention is inadequate and resulted in frame bending and the skin coming away from the ribs. If you look at the main image of the trailer for sale, it appears to have what could be the tell tale signs of buckling at the rear of the wheel arch by the side hatch. If that is the case would you warn me away from it despite the price ($3,500) or is it a repairable scenario, and if so, what would it take? The exterior looks in pretty good condition, i intend to renovate the interior. Any advice would be gratefully received. thanks Jon
