I see what you mean. I saw a fellow on youtube did a mini split on a very small travel trailer. Said it was $350 or something like that. Thinking maybe get two of them on for the front part and one for the back part. I have yet to find a mini split for that cheap though. Thanks for your help will let you know how it goes

I see. No, I did not consider the ceiling mount version. I used copper pipe on my first trailer and flexible on the current one. Both have held up fine so far including trips to the Grand Canyon but I suppose eventually they may fail due to vibration. The issue for you, I think, will be sizing. The largest unit that runs on 110 volts is 12,000 BTU which is probably not adequate for a 31 ft trailer...

I am in NC we just got a 73 AS 31 foot Excella. The PO cut all the electrical parts off the AC in the roof. I think I need a new one anyway if it did run. What I meant was I see on line that the part that is inside for the mini Split can also be inserted where the old AC part is. It does not have to attached to the side .

The outside part is still on the tongue. Also that part that is on the outside I guess there isnt a chance you can take it off an bring it inside and then connect again since there is freon going through the system. I was kinda worried all the bouncing etc would screw it up. Also did you use copper pipe or do they make flexible pipe to connect the inside to ouside.

"ShelL" is powder coated steel, just like your home A/C. First one held up well for a year and a half (when I sold the trailer) and new owners report it continues to perform well. Just installed the same system on my current trailer a few months back and it is working great so far. I made a few small changes to the installation but essentially the same as previous. I did not consider any form of roof mounting due to aesthetic and storage considerations. Where are you located?

Hi I saw your post where you put a mini spilt on your AS. How has it held up? What is the shell of the outside part made out of? Was thinking using a mini split on my AS. Also I see they made a cassette type that could go where the old one is did you consider that? thanks for your help Jim
