    Chad: thanks for the note. Somehow I missed your response. Good to hear your comments/review of the bike rack and bumper addition. I will be in touch with my dealer to get a price on the cost for these items for the spring. I am looking forward to the first trip in the spring, perhaps as early as February if I can convince Sue to take some time for a trip down into the U.S. for a break from our long winter. We have the flexibility to take work with us and can make it a working holiday. For now we shovel snow and enjoy the white Christmas that is upon us. Thanks again. Keith

    Keith and Sue;
    Great question and I had same concern. I could detect no towing issue with 2, 50 pound bikes on the bike rack. The Airstream bike rack cannot be installed without the bumper. The bumper and bumper frame weighs less than 50 pounds(bumper is aluminum) and mount frame is steel. The bike rack is 20 pounds +/- a little.
    Towing bikes on the Bambi is a treat. It probably lightens the tongue weight some, so you might want to put some weight in the front of the Bambi to increase the tongue weight if you feel it necessary.
    By the way, the bike rack is open in the center and the storage boxes slide right through without having to even tilt them. The bumper also acts as a shelf for these.
    I also love my Bambi and just loved it more the longer I owned it. Several grand children(and parents) just moved to where I live and I now have unexpected guests and needed a bigger Airstream which I now have. Actually own two and can have my own caravan.

    Keith:
    I had same thoughts about weights and balance. The bumper weighs 40 or so pounds with frame. The rack is attached to the bumper and the trailer so the weight distribution is excellent. The tongue weight was not effected and the unit tows without a sway without weight distribution hitch.
    The storage containers inside the back easily fit through the rack which I was also concerned about.
    Absolutely a perfect addition to a Bambi.

    I see that you have your 16' Sport for sale. I am hoping you could answer a couple of questions about your unit. I have the same and was wondering about installing the rear bumper and the bike rack. My question is how the weight of the bikes affects the hitch weight and the behaviour of the trailer while towing. Also, I am wondering about the addtional weight that the bumper and bike rack added to the trailer.

    I am also wondering about what you are towing your trailer with. We use a 2012 Honda Pilot Touring Edition and effect of he weight of the bumper, bikes and rack are a concern. I know that when we are towing with contents in the holding tank we can feel a difference in the handling of the trailer on the highway.

    Thank you for your time on this.

    We have had ours for one year and absolutely love it.

    Keith
