Sorry for the delayed response - I just saw your PM. Yes, I had to install a brake controller. I moved a Tekonsha Prodigy from my old TV. There are a few tutorials on YouTube about installing a brake controller in an Atlas. There is a wire harness connector under the driver's side carpet. You may not need it, though, if you use one of the new bluetooth controllers - check out the selection at etrailer.

Hi Robert, I just saw your post. I also just got a new Atlas SEL for my tow vehicle and had the ball and 7-pin connector fitted today at the dealership. I was going to rent an AS via Outdoorsy but on reading seems I may now also need a brake controller package, assuming that one is not included in the factory installed tow package that the SEL comes with? I wanted to ask how you got round this? Thanks for your advice!
    Mike (San Diego)
