Wow….BT to ET…you must be an only redesignation that way for sure. So in 87-90 I was on Pier 6 a lot in San Diego. I believe the Gray was on Pier 4-5 if I recall correctly. I was at 32nd Street until 90 then went on a disputed 3 year NRD Chicago recruiting tour and in 93 went over NASNI on Carriers…..I retired out of Mayport as SERMC (former SIMA Mayport)Acting CMC. I was also Enginneering LCPO on JFK from 2002-2005…not sure if we crossed paths but were probably very close at times to crossing! Take care shipmate and thanks for reaching out

I was reading an AirForums post about tire minders and saw your post, so thought I'd reach out and say hi.
I'm a former BT1 / Retired ETC. Yep, you read that right a BT to an ET. In '93 I had to find a new rate, so became a Twidget. Was curious if we crossed paths?
As a BT I was at SIMA Newport, RI from '82 - 87; USS Gray FF-1054 ('87 - 90) San Francisco; ResCen Perth Amboy, NJ '90 - 93; Two years of ET schooling A and C
As an ET, USS Avenger MCM-1('95 - 98) Ingleside, TX; Naval Coastal Warfare Williamsburg, VA ('98 - 2002), Oh and I went to boot in San Diego 1981
