Hi,Barretta2,
Tow capacity is important, but tow capacity is not as critical as the Gross Vehicle Weight. Consider calculating your total GVW and compare to the rating for the Cherokee. If this is ok, drive on! I agree with your speeds. I also travel at 60 to 65. I didn't know the speeds of the rollovers and can't comment on drivers (well, maybe I can... Older and inexperienced).

Thanks for your post re the two recent rollovers with Airstreams. I'm still in the search stage of Airstream ownership, but am closing in, so am keen on educating myself. Your post doesn't say whether speed was a factor in either rollover; and, what role did driver error play? One was a rental--perhaps inexperience was a factor? I now tow a travel trailer, approx 3,000 lbs fully loaded. I have never had the slightest problem with sway or braking control. But, I rarely exceed 65 MPH, most often settle in around 60--and downhill I certainly slow appropriately. Wouldn't this be enough to avoid an out-of-control situation? And (thanks for humoring me) another Q: I plan to tow a 19' Flying Cloud, 4,500 lbs., with my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland V-8. From your comments, should I worry that my 7,500 tow capacity is inadequate? Or are load distribution, proper brakes, anti-sway bars, the more important factors? And, speed. Thanks, and safe travels!
