Not to beat a dead horse, but as for the Wide/ Narrow body deal- when you log in to the forum, look at the photo at the top of the website- the line of trailers in a a caravan. The last one in line is a narrow, the ones in front are wides. Kinda easy to see the difference in that pic.

Happy hunting for your AS. We got ours in August after a year and a half search. If you're not subscribed to the Airstream Classifieds, you might want to look into it.

Hi Bob, Sorry for the very late reply. I really need to check this area more often. On future visits or if anyone else wants recommendations, my first choice is Oak Mt state park. Its clean, quiet, shady, nice lake, and many nearby conveniences but no wifi or CATV. Tannehill is OK but crowded and less convienient with no wifi or CATV. The only camping with WIFI and CATV is a Good Sam CG (Birmingham South CG) in Pelham, one exit south of Oak Mtn park off exit 242 of I65. Its busy but looks safe and they have a store and a pool.

Hi, sorry but I just saw your message. Oak Mtn is the nicest but I think you are right about wifi. There's a former KOA in the Hoover area that seems to be a popular stop. Sorry, but I haven't actually camped much in my own town, if you know what I mean! I suspect that you have already visited Bham since your message was from April. Anyway, sorry that I just caught it. I don't get to Airforums as often as I'd like.Best regards, Sean

    glad to help.

yes- oak mtn and Tannehill are both fine places to stay. no idea about the wifi but it doesn't surprise me.

there is a KOA (or at least it used to be KOA) in Pelham, which is near oak mtn. but it looks cramped from what I can see from the road, and its probably too close to the hwy to be very quiet.... I'd stay away from it.

depending on where you're working in b'ham tannehill might be farther out than you realize. its likely 40-45 mins from downtown. oak mtn is probably 20-25 mins.?

may not matter to you. who knows.

let me know where you'll be working and I can give you an idea of which is closer, etc. you may have already checked that out on google maps or similar.

most folks around here, if they just run out to somewhere local, go to one of those two places...? so you've done some good homework already...
