Need help! Replacing baking plate and drum assembly on 1954 26' Cruiser

So here are a few pictures of what I'm looking at, I want to buy the brake assembly and drum kit but am not sure if it will fit.

I pulled a 1779 bearing from the original, pictured below and don't see any need to replace the axle.

Do you think this kit will work? It seems to have the same 5 bolt mounting as the original backing plate.

I do not know if yours are Hadco but if so they are still in business and can replace what you you have. If I were to do it again I would replace the whole axle with torsion axles. Not that much more than the parts you will replace just to replace the backing plate and brakes

Thanks FC7039,

I should explain a little more, I am getting this ready to take on a 5k mile drive from Alaska to Southern California, when I get to Cali I'm going to convert it to a tandem torsion axle, it's a 26' trailer and I'd like the peace of mind knowing one blowout isn't going to ruin all my hard work
