Hi, BradS. Did you mean your other left, or were you looking at it from the inside? I only see a window to the right of the door. Sometimes I think I would like to have a second door installed on my trailer where you are moving yours to.

Jan and I really like your plan, I like how open it is compared to the original layout. we are still moving things around in the cruiser but have to decide pretty soon on the final plan. I have the next 4 1/2 days off to make a run on the cruiser, the new wheels and tires came in today, it will be fun to get those on! Come on by if you get close to Wisconsin!

I have spent a lot of time drawing and measuring and drawing and and... I think the floorplan I posted was a few changes ago. There will be some form of dinette or table to the right of the door. I switched the toilet and shower. When you walk in the trailer the toilet isn't the first thing you see, it also would have been visible from the dinette and I am now able to move the wall just to the left of the door 6" back. Zip dee chair cabinet at the base and a place to hang coats above.

Sounds like you are making great progress enjoy the next few days and get me an address please

Many of the windows are from the trailer and just moved around a little. What was the rear window became the new front window. The old front window became the new roadside front window. I took the window from above the curbside bed and moved it over to the roadside beside the one above the road side bed.

The curb side windows will both be reconfigured jalousie windows. I found them on the forums classifieds about a year ago. Talking with the guy I bought them from I was given the impression that no one wanted them because they were to wide. He said that if they were narrower he could have sold them many times over. Both were 36" wide by 30" tall. I have taken them apart and plan to cut them down. One will be 30" wide for over the dinette and the other will become 24" wide and go just forward of the original door location. Both windows will become 22" tall.The jalousie windows came from a parted out 1964 Safari.

My new rear window came out of a 1952 Spartan, found while shopping on the internet. I wanted a shorter window so that I could have a 5" back splash above the bathroom counter.

Check the forums classifieds, squat on e bay and throw the question out on the forums. Be patient and dont stop hunting. I started looking for windows because what I had needed so much work. I ended up Mixing and matching to fit my needs.Every now and then someone parts out a trailer. Keep searching, not just for windows but for donor trailers as well . We all want/need parts.

Its been a good winter. I didnt start out planning to do so much, it just sort of happened. My only concern is that the park will open soon and I will change focus. There is still so much to do. Oh well!

The work on Holly continues although at a slower pace. The world has started to thaw here in Minnesota and life keeps getting in the way.

Im still working on the door. I want to make sure that the hinges are mounted well and the door swings freely,no point in building in problems because Im in a hurry.

As part of the curbside rework I need to fill the window hole to the right of the door and make a new opening forward of the current one. Why does it always feel like I remove so much metal every time I try to fill a hole?

A friend, Doug (tinman54) made up a new eyebrow for my door. Wow, what a difference it makes. Thank you Doug!

My lease is up and the trailer is coming home tomorrow. Holly has gone through some changes this winter. This last week I removed the last of the panels on the curb side and filled all the holes with new metal. Its now ready for windows

Holly is now a 1957, front bed, rear door Overlander. Just a little more attention and a few more parts is all she needs to be useable

Hi, BradS. You have done a really great job on repairing this trailer that someone might have just scrapped. Glad to see this trailer being saved. I have a few questions about the front segments. Since you have virtually replaced the entire front end except for two pieces, why didn't you replace those two pieces too? Was it because they are original and weren't damaged? Are they better metal than the new pieces? When shined up, will they all look the same? Just curious!

Thoes two segments were not damaged. I also replaced six segments on the rear endcap. The old metal is no better or no worse than the new segments. It is the same. And yes it will shine up so that no one will know or see a diffrence when its done.

If I had to do it all over again I dont know what I would do. I didnt work this winter, so I had the time. I learned a lot along the way and in the end I will be so darn proud of what I have done that I guess I have to say it was all worth it.

Im far from done. I need to finish rebuilding the windows, finish the door, replace the wood floor, add tanks, insulate, wire, plumb, put in the interior skins, build the cabinets and and and ...

I guess I better hope for another slow down at work

I'm very impressed with all the work you have done on your trailer. And I'm jealous of the fact that you have had the time to do it even if it wasn't exactly planned.

Brad, Holly is looking great after her skin replacement surgery! She will be very happy to come home with you. What better then a good rainy day to test her out.

So happy that you brought her back from the grave. Quite a difference with her since the last time you brought her home.
