Like all good projects, two steps forward and one step back.Instead of putting on segments I finished removing the front window today. My plan is to move the door to the rear of the trailer and put the bed across the front. Because of this I am taking the rear window, the emergency exit, and moving it to the front of the trailer. Sometimes I wonder why I dont just leave things alone. Here is my purposed floor plan.
Thats the plan. The door is in good shape so I am hoping to remove the skins, reverse the hinges and add a new lockset. The more I look at it the more I think thats the best thing to do. I want to keep my options open for an awning and unless I flip the door I will have problems
Today I removed the back window and started getting ready to mount it in front. My bed will be in the front of the trailer and I want the exit there.
For some unknown reason I assumed the front and rear window openings were the same. They are close, not the same. So after removing the window from the back, I resized the front to make it larger.I now have an exit out the front of the trailer
While working on that I decided that I should replace the panel below the window before going to the work of mounting the window. Im starting to wonder how much of the original trailer will be left when Im done.
You can probably save the mice, they will like a fresh new place and maybe some window glass!
Brad , The new sections look good, keep the pictures coming, the furnace business isn't isn't letting me go to far from home, at least I can watch your progress online.

It's not worth doing if you're not having fun.
I just finished up for the day, another good one. While moving the emergency exit from the back of the trailer to the front I decided to replace the panel below the front window. This is what I started on today. I now know what happens when you remove this panel.
And tomorrow I will make the new panel and see if I can cleco it in place. I think Tim will be at the trailers this weekend and I would love to rivet
Another great day. My truck says its about 14 below zero outside, oh well!
Having a heated space for the trailer is great. Its nice to be able to get some work done on the trailer.
I got the front panel, all 12' of it, cut and put in place. I took my time and avoided mistakes. I enjoyed today, this is getting to be a lot of fun. Im still hoping to buck a few rivets tomorrow and then I can get back to segment work.
It was warm out today, I was hoping for a little more winter. Having Tims help on Saturday was great. We got several rivets bucked and today I went back to adding segments.
I only got one fit today, although I got the front window fit and in place . I also cut and fit a panel to fill the old bottom ,road side, front window. When the front end was damaged both windows there were as well. Im only able to make one window from the parts.
Tim is encouraging me to get more panels ready for riveting this coming weekend. Thank goodness he enjoys it cause I need the help!
Im starting to look at moving the entry door. I want to put it between the last two ribs, before the back endcap. As well Id like to change it from a right hand swing to a left hand swing. ANY ADVISE?

Maybe a dumb thought, but if you switch sides, would it matter as much?
