Help-'59 Hitch/Sway

I will be towing with a 3/4 ton Chevy Diesel Truck. I would like any suggestions/opinions of what setup to use.

Many thanks......Josh

Pro Pride 3P. By the way, where the heck is Pinetta? Any relation to Lou P?

Depends on what you are towing. While the ProPride 3P is undeniably a fine product, it is both heavy and expensive. There are many less expensive, very capable alternatives offered by Reese, Blue Ox and Anderson.

Unfortunately each has its rabid proponents and opponents so it is really a matter of doing your homework and deciding for yourself.

For the record, I use a Reese hitch with 600# bars. The setup has worked well for me during the past seven years and 50000 plus miles of towing. The only complaint I have is that I have whacked my shins into that big stinger a million times -- you would think I'd learn.

Enjoy the journey,

Mike

You'll need a shank too: http://www.reese-hitches.com/search?q=Shank

Definetly depends on what you will be towing. I use the Andersen WD system with my Bambi II and could not be happier.

Thanks. What's your tow vehicle.
This trailer has a light TW and we are used to heavier loads. I don't want it too stiff

The Andersen works very well with an adequate tow vehicle like yours and light to moderate tongue weights. Clean, quiet, lightweight, easy to hitch/unhitch, and easy to adjust to eliminate "porpoising".

I am trying to figure out which model Andersen for the 59? Bracket size is the main question. Anyone have an idea?

You will have to measure the frame to see what brackets you will need. Once you have that measurement give Andersen a call. Tell them what you have and they will fix you up with the package you need.

Mine is 2" x 4". Your's may vary as there were a half dozen models made in two different factories.
