mystery wires and getting entry light to work

Im tinkering on my 56 safari, getting lights working in this particular instance.

My interior 12v dome light was not working due to faulty switch so I removed fixture to find these other mystery wires not hooked up (see pic). Only one of the 4 wires has 12v on it. All 4 are 16 or 18 gauge wire. Any ideas what the other wires are for?

Also trying to get entry exterior door light working, the mystery wires from above seem to not be tied in here. Note the 10 gauge yellow wire feeding the switch (see pic)!! Cant get power or continuity from anywhere (from mystery wires or 7 way panel behind stove ups front). Switch does work and has continuity to outside fixture. Plugged in shore power to check cloth/fabric insulated wires for AC (120v), nothing. Any input?

If you are talking about the round fluorescent dome light near the middle Hehr vent, that was originally 120vac, which would’ve had three wires. We converted ours to 12vdc with a round tube.

that fluorescent is still intact on mine but toward the front of camper. Also has one under upper storage at table.

im referring to a 12v dome light between front and middle hehr vents (right behind front vent).

So, 12vdc for the dome light. Could the other three wires have powered the Hehr vent fan? Were they long enough to reach the vent? Or, do you already have 120vac at the vent? The Ohio built Safaris were much different than the 55 FC I have.

correct 12vdc for dome light. Hehr vent fan is 120vac and works.
only one of the wires hanging from ceiling has power (12vdc) which was hooked to dome.
no power, DC or AC on other 3 wires.

first thoughts were one wire would go to the outside light switch (also trying to get working). Only to find the 10g yellow wire at switch (not matching) for outside light and hooking mystery wires up to power yield no results (voltage or continuity)

My guess is the extra wires are for a (3way) switch system (two switches one light) that was disconnected or never installed, Trick is - - to find the other switch? Could It be the outside switch, I would try connecting some of the extra wires to 12v power and look for power on the others. Then switching random switches on or off and re checking. I like sorting out circuits, it’s very satisfying when you get it. Hope you figure it out.

after cleaning the rust of the exterior (door) light switch, its stamped 125vac. But still can't get voltage to switch, by shore power and tinkering with mystery wires.
