1956 Safari #06328
I found my 56 Safari not yet a month ago. I haven't had much time or weather to work on it much but have researched a lot and am enjoying that initial process. The more I learn the more I realize that much here is original AND how much original items vary, even within the same year and model. I include several pictures for the sake of others possibly looking for original photos to go off of and to others who just like to look. Of course there are parts that are not original such as the fridge and floor covering (the original is green and underneath) etc. Enjoy!

Good to have you with us. Those are great pictures. I liked the can opener. We had one of those in our 55 that was original. Everything sure looks in to be in great shape. Keep us posted and good luck. Bubba

More photos. Even though I edited photos, some are still coming through sideways.

Anyone know how I can edit these photos to go right side up? Sorry for the kink in your neck!

In posting pictures, we’ve found if we size the pictures wider than they are tall, they will post correctly. Good luck, Bubba

Original?
I hate to tell you this, but the ONLY things that I see that are not original are:
1. Window treatment 2. Cushion/bed upholstery 3. Refrigerator 4. Can Opener 5. PVC Drain Piping under sink 6. Bunk Bed set-up. There might be a few more small items that I have probably missed, but all kidding aside, you have a beautiful museum piece. This is a very original trailer. One usually does not find a vintage Airstream in this original condition. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me thru the Private Message Option. I had a 54 Safari, so I know them well, and currently have a 1955 Commodore Vanderbilt Airstream.
Super Nice Trailer.
Regards,
StevieB

Welcome to the Safari club. Thanks for posting all of the original pictures. We got our '56 about 6 months ago. Our trailers were almost identical, only 23 serial numbers apart. I didn't document the original as well as you and now that it is all torn apart, I am happy to have your photos as a resource.
The trailer looks great. Anxious to hear your plans for it.
Our restoration thread is here: Our yet to be named 56 Safari

Wrightstuff6,
You must have been coming off the assembly line as I was starting out.
With my chassis number of 6336, I'm sure our paths have crossed at some point and time in life, maybe in the storage lot out back before being shipped out to the dealers

Beautiful trailer! What a gem of an original unit, I love the floor tile pattern! So many cool accessories!

I'm assuming that Bubba`s recommendation on the edit of pictures corrected the sideways photo issue?
If so thanks Bubba
To op, great find! Trailer looks awesome, I love a mostly original trailer.
