Tail lights '52 Flying Cloud

So far i haven't been able to find replacents for the tail lights, the pointy ones. Anyone any suggestions about were to get them?

Also i'm wondering which light does what? the square ones are just light and double as break lights? And the pointy lights are they used as turn signal?

Any tips on were to find the light are appreciated

Hi,
On my 1951 (could be a 52?) it only has the small rectangle lights on the back, which serve as "running lights", "brake lights" and "turn signal lights". The "pointy" ones are on the sides - 2 near front and 2 near back, and were "running lights" only (red in the back, yellow in the front). I've always called them "beehive" lights and mine are real glass (see photo in my images). It'll be very difficult to find replacements - every once in a while they show up on ebay. Maybe there are "replicas" on the web somewhere. I do notice that the usual place I go for this sort of thing (vts) doesn't carry anything that looks like mine.

Good Luck,
MarkR

(oh, and i notice that my images are sort of "gone" . . . (wonder what that means?) . . . anyway, here's a link that should take you to that photo:

Hi Mark, it looks like the same light. As you can see in this picture my FC does have them on her tail:

As you can see the right one is missing. On the side she has those teardrop shape lights....

I will check ebay, did so yesterday with no luck....

Ah Ha! I was looking at the "brake lights" which are like the ones Toastie showed you. By the way...those are rare, especially in Holland area. The ones you are showing are usually on the sides....called side marker lights. Usually the ones in the area at the bottom of the rear are "back up" lights of a clear glass. Over the years previous owners make many modifications...I sus pect that here. Look in the same area that Toastie referenced....there are always side marker lights like you want ....they show up regularly sold by dealers. Send an Email to the dealer...most likely they will have what you need. I would still buy those "brake" lights, restore them as spares for future use,,,even make them LED upgrades for safety.

I had luck finding tail-light lenses for my '72 at www.taillightking.com. Good luck with your restoration!
