Barry, great on the Bluebird houses. We had made some for our west fence line when we got into Wildlife management a couple decades ago. We get the Eastern Bluebird. We get a few migratory but some have decided to move here permanently. I like your pole mount much better than the fence post mount. Take care and be safe.

A Cloud named 'Spoon'

So have had several pairs of bluebirds -shopping-, but no committals yet. Today I put the window eye brows on, all but one as I ran out out Olympics, am four short. Ordered 100 today so will be down for a little while. Excited to try out a friends Buff Pro polisher. I bought new drums and some nuvite so we will starting polishing when it’s a little warmer.
While at it I added a new shelf up front, along with a dual 12v outlet. One a cigarette type, the other a dual phone charger port.Click image for larger version

Gorgeous. Nicely done. I've saved your photos in my ideas folder and some may end up in my Ambassador. Thanks for posting - Mark

Thanks Steve, there are multiple things we have tried to do differently on this build. It is always fun to try and think outside the box and learn new skills along the way. Thanks

Still plugging away on Spoon , finishing a few things Polishing with C is about done need to do the bottom foot all the way wining installed around , then on to the cyclo-yay! Finished the trim on the wheel wells, sanding out the rear bumper before paint, and working on installing the Zipdee awning

OPPS bump in the road—-while traditionally the awning is a rope and stake affair, we chose to go modern here for easy of use and not be limited to where we can camp.

Couple of issues - first Steve Blackmer warned me about this- when he had his awning done at the Zipdee recommended size. When closed the awning arms prevent the side window from opening, knowing the I ordered my awning 2 1/2” longer. That will work. How ever the awning brackets now are 1-1/4” to far away from where they are attached to the rib/c channel per side. No problem I made a bracket plate to attach to the bracket which allowed me to then attach to the rib/c channel. That done it clears great - I’m happy, now we can open the windows. Problem 1 solved.
Once I put the arms on it be came evident I have Another problem-2
once the head is put on it be came apparent that the head is actually above the awning rail, and the upper bracket with the wheel on it is also above the awning rail. Today i call Zipdee to see what they have to say. Talking to couple of guys the consensus is that the awning rail needs to be moved up several inches. More to follow, hereClick image for larger version

Instead of moving the awning rail can you shorten one/some of the arm components to lower the head or would that put the head too low when deployed?

I did that to get a better fit to the side profile of my 58 as the arms I bought were too long. A non-ferrous blade in a chop/miter saw works quite well. (My 58 is raised with a straight axle and over sized tires for ground clearance so it didn't compromise awning height.)

At the top I only had to drill 2 new holes; 1 to bolt on the spring arm and 1 to clear the 'axle' on the spring arm. The original is universal so it has elongated holes on both sides to clear the spring arm axle whether mounted at front or back.

I’m not sure what type awning you have, but definitely not a Zipdee, maybe a Carefree? Will be doing a little research before committing to raising awning rail.

ZipDee?

Definetly looks like a Carefree to me. This is a whole different set-up.
