1955 Flying Cloud Front Window Rock Guard
I had our local trim shop, which is just one very talented semi retired guy, make a rock guard for the front window of our 1955 Flying Cloud. He used the same material that he used for the spare tire cover. He sewed in two aluminum panels and covered those panels with a separate material that helps keep the heat off the outside material. He also sewed in a flexible lip on the bottom and two lips on each side. The lips attach to the window frame. The top slides into a rail that he installed.

Here’s a photo of the front window without the rock guard.

That window cover is beautifully done work. Well designed and well built.
Would you be willing to post some images of your spare tire mount? I have a '56 Flying Cloud, and I would like to mount the spare as you have on the tongue. If you have images, drawings, dimensions, etc., I sure would appreciate having them.
Hank

Hank,
I’ll take some photos & measurements of the spare tire mount and post them on this thread. It will be about a week before I’m able to do it because my FC is not at my house this weekend & I’m headed to the Airstream National Dealer Meeting next week.

Rick, I tried to send you several emails, but I do not know if they got through to you. I still am interested in contact information about the person who made your window cover.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Hank
