Sleep Number
I have a 30 SO and want to change out the mattress to a sleep number bed. Has anyone done this? A man's gotta get a good nights sleep! If you did how did it turn out?
Thanks,
Terry

I'll be intersted to see the replies on this. We've considered the sleep number, although we are currently satisfied with our memory foam topper.

Bear beds
You might search here on "Bear Beds".
They do make them for Airstreams

Three years ago we put a queen size sleep number bed in our trailer. Wow do we love it. We loved the one we had at home and we just couldn't imagine getting anything else when we remodeled our trailer. The factory mattress in our trailer was terrible, bad , no good, junk. I'll never understand why Airstream put it in our trailer. I tent camped for years and the ground was more comfortable. Now our five star suite has a mattress to match

I bought a less costly equivalent at Sleep Number Bed vs. Dream Number Beds several years ago and it made a huge improvement in my life. I now sleep deeply and soundly and nearly always wake up in the position that I went to sleep in, after years of restless nighttime thrashing. It also gives me relief from the pain of two herniated discs in my back.
I built a custom platform to raise the mattress up to the right level after throwing my A/S mattress away. I also removed short sections of the foam surround rail at one corner to allow the mattress to conform to the rounded corner of the trailer, with a pillow stuffed into the end to make up the gap in the length.
My sleep number is 80, what's yours? Don't know? Then you ought to find out.

We replaced the original matress with a sleep number earlier this year and just love it. We suffered with the morning back ache but no more. One of the best investments we made with the trailer. We have a Select Comfort at home so we are converts.

We did it years ago because that mattress in the Airstreams sucks big time and since we sleep on a Sleep Number at home it only made sense. Man do we ever sleep well in our home away from home!? Yes we do.
Do it as soon as you can and you'll never look back.
Happy Trails.

sleep number 65
Camping world had a sale on the sleep number bed a month or so ago. We bought the RV short queen with radius corners. perfect for our 30 classic w/slide. We love this bed and will buy one for our house when we return from our extended travels. We are both #65 sleep numbers. Go for it! You will not be disappointed. CHIP

i think I will upgrade to a sleep numer radius. I was just curious if I need a short queen or a standard. I think the short queen is 60 x 75 and the standard queen is 60 x 80. I thik it is time to measure. I do not have very much room so I am assumming I will have to go with the short queen.
Thanks for all the relpys!

We just picked up a 2006 FB on Thursday, the previous owner had removed the mattress and put in a futon pad for some silly reason... No way that is going to fly, after all the whole reason we sold our little 21' Airstream was to get a bigger unit with a real bed that we both fit in!
We have had a sleep number bed at home for years and love, love, LOVE it! A quick google search today I found Camping World offers a Sleep Number RV Short Queen with rounded corners. Just by chance, with just a few hours left, their "Cyber week Sale" ends today. The Mattress was offered at 35% off and free shipping. They also offered free in store returns if it doesn't fit so I ordered one without doing any research.
I'm really glad to see all of you raving about your sleep number mattresses, it makes me feel a little better about such an impulse buy!
