We installed aluminum blinds from Budget Blinds on all our windows in our 1977 Overlander. I then took every old hunter green curtain down removed the pleats and cleaned them very well. I cut my new fabric slightly larger than the old curtain and pinned it on top of the existing curtains with a tucked in hem along edges. I ironed the new fabric to the existing curtains using a fuseable material. The same was done to apply the orange and white trim along the bottom and top edges. I then machine stitched around all the edges to ensure it was securely held in place. We chose not to pleat the curtains again as we were looking for a smoother look. We ended up with triple layers of fabric blocking the light and heat and have loved them ever since.

[QUOTE=Hittenstiehl;2230904]Thanks Perri.

We actually routinely look out the back windows along with our mirrors. In vintage trailers it's easy to see thru.

We have a vintage trailer but it’s (a) wearing sunglasses and (2) a 27-footer, so what you propose would not work for us, even if it didn’t have a rock guard on the front. I guess you have a short trailer? I do have trouble imagining how you would see anything useful through those little windows, with the additional length of your TV, but I’ll take your word for it!
