Shelf for 25FB twin night stand

Has anyone added a shelf or shelves to their night stand? We have a 2017 Flying Cloud 25FB and are looking to put in something permanent or temporary, either or. By temporary I mean it could be shelving that we can take down while towing. Any ideas?

I made a shelf/tray that sits on top of the beside drawer. I open the drawer and this sits on top. The drawers can't close with it in place. Great place to hold my glasses, evening wine, or morning coffee.
