Range hood blues
Hi all and thanks for any help.
Bought the A/S but the range hood has no guts or exhaust pipe, just the filter assembly on the underside of the cabinet. Have been unable to locate. Need desperately cause we live here full time and cook three squares daily.
Again, thanks

Mine is a newer unit and the range hood exhausts straight back fro the hood through the sidewall. I know some of the older ones go upward through a cabinet and exhaust on the roof. If yours goes out the side, you can probably pick up a whole new(er) unit from a salvage yard. Brand new? Camping World. These were never unique to Airstream, but were bought as components to many RV's. Just start making some calls. If yours is one with the stack, try Colaw's Salvage - they are on the web - and have many wrecked Airstreams.
BTW, many people have bought stock fans from J.C. Whitney, etc. to replace burned out ones. As for the duct work - it might be possible to have it made at a local sheetmetal shop, or even fabricate it from stock stuff you can get at Home Depot.
Best of luck, Paula

Adapt automive 12 volt stuff until you find replacement equip.
If using shore power(120v) most of the time when cooking...Mobile
home parts ore plentiful and inexpensive ... another adaptation...
having nothing - it time to adapt and be smoke free

OK.... being not so sure of what unit is installed in your rig and not really sure what you are asking help on other than you cook three times a day and are in desperate need of help. Is it your cooking that needs help? Unable to locate; locate what? Let's get the blanks filled in and I know lots of folks will chime in to help you. We can't help too much with your cooking but probably can help with your range hood. Does the fan go on when you flip the switch? It most likely is a recycling fan unit which means it does not vent outside. I can be easily replaced with an outside venting unit if you are into cutting both the interior and exterior walls, making an insert between the walls etc. We did this in the 1960 Tradewind and not only does it vent very well we were able to add a bunch of insulation to that wall section while doing the upgrade. If you decide not to bring out the tin snips, the best thing to do is take out the filters and clean them and the interior of your existing unit often.

I don't know the answer to your question but maybe I can clear some of the confusion for others;
The OP is looking for the vent box and tubing as well as the blower and motor for the exhaust system over the stove.
I am sure Inland Andy can help with parts.

A Fantastic Fan in the closest overhead vent will work.

I got a raging anxiety attack from reading your post and I ran outside in my shorts and one slipper to check my vent because I've never tried it. All I could think all the way up the hill is that the fan will not be there. I pulled the filter down and there's a cable to pull the door down and a fan and it worked. This might be the first thing that I've tried that actually worked.
