New to Airstream Family/Renovation advice

We just joined the Airstream family... a 1965 Sovereign. To me it looks like it is in need of an entire interior restoration. It has been a home for mice and squirrels for the last ten years. I would like to know where the forum members would recommend that I start. Everything is attached to the interior with rivets. Do I just start drilling these rivets out to remove the interior cabinets, appliances, etc.? Should I plan on removing the interior skin to check the insulation as well as to check for leaks?

Your advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to do this project right.

Thanks,
Dan

Where to Start

Hi! Our family just bought a 1969 Sovereign Land Yacht. Before we did we read Tim Shephard's Restoring A Dream. Since we bought it we've referred back to it most evenings. So far we've removed most of the interior, saving things we want to reuse and taking lots of pictures so we can remember where things go. The book give great advice on dealing with the rivets but so far we aren't working with them because we are starting with systems and have to get down to them first.
