The '53 my buddy just picked up has a bunk very similar to yours Shari. We haven't really looked at it to see if it was professionally installed or not.

I popped this thread to him so hopefully he'll chime in with some pictures. His has all the original appliances and cabinets. It's pretty decent as is but he wants to personalize it, which I agree is the right thing for them.
