Near catastrophe

I went under the trailer today to hook up the brake wiring. I found that the trailer company which installed my axles had forgotten to put any...ANY....of the brake backing plate attach nuts on. This had left me with a free floating gear on my return home to the Red Barn. I got some locking nuts and now get on with it.

Melody I love this.

"Get Smart" in shorts. I'm going to save this as a possible theme for one of our photo shoots some day.

Just add the dark rimmed glasses.

when old meets new

I bought the interior of a 2016 Cloud and have been trying to modify it to be usable in the 1953 Liner. Even though they are both 29 ft long the round corners of the 53 and the body width are giving me fits. Here is the booth and the hydraulic table will be installed for the completion. The long couch from the Cloud will be used as a lounge in the rear bedroom area after I get the frame of the curved base made. Pics later.

Pull out a pair of your old checkered shorts, set up your thinking chair, and design a beautiful surround that accommodates the differences in body styles.

I saw this style dinette in a new Airstream at the RV show last winter. I was impressed with how sturdy and comfortable it was compared to the SOBs we looked at. I purchased one of the pedestal table lifts, and it works well.

I'm confident you will engineer a vintage looking solution for a great dinette in your old Liner.

floor install sequence

I figured out the brake wiring location....I ran it in the wall above floor from the power distribution box up front to the wheel well area. So, now I can work the floor in readiness for the new wall panels. Luan will give me the smooth surface for the final flooring (to be picked and decided upon) installation. I may use a combo laminate and carpet like it came with.

If polishing is a "break in the work", then I've got the wrong perspective on what hard work really is.

Those mid summer Texas high temps are something else. They make even walking to the trailer seem like hard work.

Your vintage Liner is coming well along. Your expert polish job will make it very attractive. I bet it came from the factory pretty shinny also. I think your trailer was before the clear coat days. 2024 T32 aircraft aluminum comes pretty shinny right out of the box.

I will get to experience your Texas heat next week when I drive down to Willis with my daughter to start her career as a traveling nurse. It was too hot here today to do much outside without sweating bullets. Can't imagine polishing!!

Summer and still working

Well, Becky....it is only 105 here today, the 22nd. I hope your back home in the AC.

I am still trudging along....some final belly pan finish up and the interior walls on. Not really hard, however, finding enthusiasm is.

Looking good, looks like a Mardi Gras float with the umbrella popping out.

the work I hate

Windows are a pain and time consuming. However, they are a satisfying job. I use old bronze screening too.
