If you roll past Colonial in New Jersey, the lot isn't empty. They appear to have RV's they will sell you.

Every RV lot I pass by anywhere, has a full inventory of trailers, just not AS's.

Appearances are deceiving.

At last check, Colonial had somewhere near zero units available for immediate purchase.

They did, however, have many units on the lot. These were a mixture of manufacture demo units (not for sale), sold trailer awaiting pickup (Colonial was offering to store for free when I recently purchased), and trailers in the queue awaiting service. All these unavailable trailers make for good show, but good luck trying to purchase one if you haven't already ordered it months in advance.

Can confirm what others have said. Have been thinking about adding a teardrop to the fleet for off grid/logging road camping. Places are pretty much sold out in the northeast until the ‘22s come out.

My local dealer, Airstream of Utah, has a number of Airstreams on the lot. However all the new ones are deliveries awaiting pickup, sold long ago. They still display them for people to look at. They also put the trailers out that are in for repairs, making them appear as inventory.

The only thing actually for sale are some consignments, and priced too high to go quickly. So here at least appearances are deceiving. They are however taking orders, and if my experience is typical they deliver on promised dates. And thanks to what they do have on the lot you can still look and see what a trailer will look like when delivered.

We are at the AS Factory Service Center getting some work done. AS rep told us they have gone from 250 employees ( a few years back) to 1300 today). Their trailer and motorhome factories were up and running at dawn. Making about 160 to 180 a week.
