Cool Nest trailer tires - Torque information

I am new to basically everything when it comes to campers, so just giving a heads up as to why I ask some pretty basic questions on here.

I understand that it's important to check the torque of your trailers tires as part of your pre-trip checklist. I've never used a torque wrench before. So I'm going to home depot/Lowes to buy a torque wrench and sockets to be able to complete this task.

Just wondering if anyone could help me with the following information:

1. What size socket would I need to get?
2. Does anyone know the amount of torque that should be used?
3. Is there any recommendations on the type of torque wrench that I get?

Any additional info that could be provided regarding this matter would be appreciated. You guys have so much experience and I would love to learn from your experience, both the good and the bad. Also this tread could be helpful to future Nesters that are new and looking to learn about this information. Thank you!

I hope someone with Nest experience responds soon. If you have the Airstream Manual the information you need is there, if not you can call Airstream.

Not a nest owner, but my trailer has wheels and lugs also...

My setup consists of:
3/4" deep socket 1/2" drive (3/4" wheel lugs)
3" x 1/2" drive extension
1/2" drive torque wrench

I purchased all at Harbour Freight. The reason I have the deep socket and the short extension is so the tire does not interfere with the wrench when tightening the lugs.

Verify the size of your lugs and torque to Airstream's specifications for your trailer.

The socket size and torque specs are in this thread...

There are lots of opinions about the "best" type of torque wrench. But it really comes down to what torque wrench you know how to use correctly. I prefer "click style" torque wrenches.
