Stephen. Read all of the posts on this thread. I posted some specific instructions and a photo of the dimmer switch I used. You would need some basic wiring skills, tools and a multimeter

Did you need to add a piece of plastic to mount it to the original switch plate.

Thanks

How about an on/off switch on the porch light fixture? I had this in my old trailer. It was an RV grade 12V DC fixture with a small on/off rocker switch.

Or if you are handy, drill a small hole in the porch fixture and install a little on/off switch. This is probably more of a direct solution rather than trying to find an oval shaped RV fixture with a switch.

Then you can just leave the wires alone and change one fixture or wire in the switch to the 2 wires that go into the porch light. You would still have access to having them all on or turn off the porch light and have the awning and handle lit up.

The on/off switch would work, but I have to say being able to dim the outside lights adds another level of cool to the Nest and is great when sitting outside at night.

It has been a while now, but as I recall, I did have to fabricate an interface mounting piece I made out of a scrap of high black high density polyethylene, but still used the original mounting plate so it all looks original. I did post a photo of the final install.

For those that have not done anything yet I found this on eBay. Airstream dealer wanted $100. 513178 - Switch panel, Backlit LED digital dimmer. Could not get the link to work but this is the Airstream part # and you can do a search that will bring you to the spot on eBay. Around $45

The brand of the switch is ELLO-ITC and their part # is 2130-BKBNBK for black and 21030-WHWH for white. This link works.

Thanks for finding this dimmer that looks just like the other dimmers in our Nest. Amazon delivered mine yesterday. I have a few questions….

1 - Did you install it yourself?
2 - If so, where did you hook up the ground wire? and
3 - How did you expand the hole in the wall panel?

Thanks In Advance - BeSerious

Morning
Go to ebay and look up the listing below. I tried a link but it did not work. it has the install diagrams. Yes I installed myself. The wiring is pretty obvious once you pull out the old one. I used a Dremel tool to enlarge the opening. Mark the opening centered on the original opening. I adjusted the new opening so that the top of the new one was even with the top of the others. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the additional info.

The existing outside light switch only has incoming and outgoing 12v wires. The ITC 21030-BKBNBK Backlit LED Digital Slim Dimmer has an additional ground wire.

What I was really curious about was how/where you found a ground for the black lead. For example did you tap one of the 4 wires for the Awning In-Out rocker switch? And if so, which one?

Thanks again - BeSerious
