Anyone put a TV in their Nest?

When I first purchased my Nest (2 weeks ago) I inquired about getting a TV mount installed. The dealership seemed to frown upon the idea of doing it due to the location of where it would have to go (by the cable hookups) and how it would be difficult to install something there with the Fridge being on the other side of that wall.

Has anyone tried installing a TV mount, or had one done? If so I'd love to hear about what kind you used, exactly where you placed it, any challenges you ran into, and any pictures you could share?

I just figured I'd bring a laptop/tablet and place it up on the counter by the dinette, but a TV would be preferred if that's even an option.

We put a 24” Vizio TV on that wall with a VideoSecuML12B swivel mount from Amazon. No problem with putting it on that wall. There’s a little space between the wall and the fridge but there seemed to be enough thickness for the screws to get a good bite.

Do you recall where you purchased this mount from? I think this is a great idea and we'd like to give it a shot.

So when you did this, you just simply screwed it into the wall without having to do anything on the opposite side? You didn't have to take the fridge out to do this did you? Also could you attach a picture of what this looks like in your Nest with the TV attached? Another concern I had was how much space this would take up having a TV mounted there.

Another option is a TV tuner card for a laptop.

Nest TV install with Well Nuts

Hi - We just picked up our new Nest in July. I installed a 24" Vizio using an Ikea TV Mount that I had purchased a few years ago. I used 4 Well Nuts and 4 screws and washers to attach the Mount to the wall with the CableSat connectors. Below are photos of the TV and Mount installed.

I first marked the placement of the Mount and Mount screw holes, then I drilled a pilot hole in each screw hole in order to explore behind the cabinet. The cabinet wall is 18mm thick, which is just under 3/4 inch ... so be careful not to drill too deep. There is room between the cabinet wall and the fridge for a 1 1/2 inch screw but I wanted to be certain there were no wires in the way. I then used a 5/16 drill bit to enlarge each of the four Mount holes.

After that you insert the Well Nuts (with the screw placed in the Well Nut so to add firmness to the rubber portion of the Well Nut). I removed the screw and lined the Mount on the screw holes. I used washers and the screws and snugged up the Well Nuts.

The install feels solid but I will be removing the TV from the mount when I am towing the Nest. I plan to also check the install after I put some miles on the trailer.

Ps. The Nest Parts Book was a big help when researching how our Nest was built.

Happy Trails!

Tv

Here is mine. I went for the 19" Jenson 12v, it is made for RV's to stand the heat and moisture. Rides great and does not move at all. The ant is a stick on and works great. I get 21 channels at my house 60 miles from the transmitter. I has a a booster that is powered by USB that I plug in the back of the TV and turns off and on with the TV. Just dropped the wire for the power down the wall and used one of the empty spots on the 12v section of the converter and fused it at 7.5A. Got everything @ Amazon

Thanks! The curtain color looks quite a bit different in daylight vs led lighting.
Something to keep in mind if/when you decide to go with different curtains or colors.

AM/FM antenna

Morning
Look at Crutchfield. They have several options for indoor antennas. I was looking the hot tub one. Go for the scratch and dent/open box. The equipment in there is always as good as new,

This looks great with such a low profile mount. What mount did you use and where can it be purchased?

I sent you a PM with some info. This is the mount I used https://www.freeshipmounts.com/foldi...led-13-27-tvs/ but I modified it/removed much of the mounting/height adjusting mechanism in order to get a very low profile. The TV is still able to swivel and tilt, but I need to take photos of how I accomplished that. Let me know if you want more information.

Thanks! These photos are very helpful in getting me started on how I can do something similar. Your Nest customizations look great.
