Tommy Bahama window graphics

Is there supposed to be a clear layer over the perforated graphics? Mine has one and has deteriorated to the point it's time to remove.

I started examining and discovered a clear layer over perforated graphics. On the undamaged sides, have been able to start peeling it off. Getting difficult where the clear layer has deteriorated.

Where I've peeled the clear layer, the graphic is more visible on the outside and view is much clearer from inside.

If I can successfully remove the damaged clear layer, trying to determine if it needs to be replaced (maybe clear window tint film)Attachment 410920Attachment 410921Click image for larger version

That clear layer was supposed to be removed during dealer prep. You'll know when your graphics need to be replaced when the corners start to curl faster than you can press them back down.

Thats what I was thinking. It's not easy to remove it now. I'm trying masking tape over the clear to help keep it from stretching and tearing during removal.... it might take heat, to soften the glue, better too. There may be no saving it in the long run.

In researching the perforated graphics, there is a clear protective layer that is used to protect the perforations and ink. Maybe that is the issue with mine. The clear layer just failed.

The TB decal is $800+ from Airstream and perforated graphics from local sine shops is about $150 w/o the clear lamination.
