What is this??

Washing my 2021 Globetrotter FBQ this AM I came across this (see photo). What is it??? It’s located over the front bedroom.

We do have SiriusXM from the factory and it has a separate antenna which is clearly labeled (differently) over the back end cap over the stereo.

The symbol on it looks like the WiFi symbol to me, but I can’t figure out what purpose it might serve. Any ideas?

Oh geez...

Apparently, my spelling's not great ("attache a file") and I can't figure out how to rotate a photo being uploaded. The photo on my computer is right side up but it rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise on upload and I couldn't figure out how to change it...

Open for any suggestions on what this mystery thing is on top of the trailer, AND on how to upload images to the Forum!

I was told and it seems to work for me, crop your photos so they are wider than taller , then save, download and paste.

It is a cover for the pre-wire for the Airstream Connected system.
Under that cover are 5 wires for a Poynting Antenna system.
The cover has a small eyebolt screwed to the inside and the wires are zip tied to it.

Installation looks pretty messy. And what’s with the bubbled paint. Im stunned this install is on a 2021 model trailer

That is not bubbled paint, it is water. However, it is a pretty sloppy sealing job around the attenna cover.

You don’t have to limit it to the AS connect system. It should work with most Wi-Fi/Cellular antenna and router packages. I just installed mine yesterday. The pre install and the leads zip tied to the cover saved me hours of installation time.

Thanks Lumenyaare! So then where do the wires terminate in the coach?

Every coach is different. Mine terminated just under the cap in the overhead storage above one of my twin beds. I had to remove the panel at the end of the storage locker. Removed three screw caps and three screws and it opened up to the area where the speaker wires and the antenna leads are run.

Also just turn your phone sideways when taking the photo and then make the image less than actual size. Try large or medium.

Curious what antenna and router you used. I am also planning on installing one on my 2021 GT. I have an AT&T MiFi. Could I route the MiFi signal through the exterior antenna to get a better signal?
