You might want to find out what they put in the 2021 models. Supposedly they moved toward a warmer tone of led which helps with the brightness.

These are nice. Put out around 2800 kelvin without any significant color cast. Very comparable to the old tungsten bulbs that were in my trailer.

I tried a number of the inexpensive LED bulbs like linked above but didn’t have good results. They worked fine at first but developed annoying flicker after low hours of use.
I’m pleased with these bulbs (good color, no flicker). Warm version for general lighting, natural for brighter task oriented lighting.
(I have no clue why the vendor is calling them landscape bulbs??)

Has anyone changed the bulbs in a Basecamp?
Amazing thread. I didn’t even think bulb replacement was even possible.
Has anyone attempted this in a Basecamp?
Or does anyone know if it would even be possible?
The basecamp lights are so bright and have no dimmer. I’d like to solve at least one of those issues.

We used these amber disc to put over the lenses from the inside. Gives a much warmer light.

Very easy to do.

You can get gel sheets, cut out to fit (small circles) and insert into the LED lights, at least it worked on my 2013. A member posted this idea and I went with it. I found the pinks and oranges worked best and in as many layers as you need to reduce the glare. You can get them through StageLightingStore or Amazon.

Add one of these to your basecamp to replace the switch.
I am going to change the one in the bathroom to this in our Globetrotter.

you can now get dimmers for LED lights. check amazon or some good electrical/lighting stores . these dimmers only works for better quality LED that support dimming.
many big box stores sell the cheaper LED. easily seen by looking for " not dimmable" on the package

LED bulbs too bright
Pete-C: Yes, M-4 has led bulbs for the recessed fixtures, bayonet, double pin, short, long & others. I have 24 light fixtures in my trailer (reading lamps, sconce lamps, standard fixtures (bath, closet,& storage compartment), overhead recessed lights, surface mounts lights, and porch light on my Winick Special Edition. If I remember correctly 7 or 8 different styles and M-4 had them all. There were 3 primary spectrums to choose from. Bright led hurts my eyes and although I usually prefer warm led lighting for reading, the natural light spectrum for my eyes (balancing brightness, warmth, & illumination.
Good luck with your choice and selections.

Thanks! That helps a lot. I think the bulbs the factory supplies are bright white.

I was thinking of changing my "scare" light to a red LED.
Does anyone know what bulb fits? And has anyone found a source for red LED's?
I'm not interested in a red gel.

There’s an extensive thread on inserting theater lighting gels into the lights. The first post of this thread links to the full CTO gel at B&H Photo but we found that WAY to dense. We settled on the 1/4 CTO.
It’s cheap and easy to do.

4000k LED
Hi.
I've replaced all my 1156-style bulbs with these.
https://www.amazon.com/SRRB-Replacem...98&sr=8-2&th=1
They are the 4000K natural white color, a nice in between bright white led and yellow incandescent. 4000k is a bit difficult to find. I've been using them for over a year and REALLY like them. they are definitely brighter, I usually only turn on 1-bulb of the 2-bulb light fixtures. I've only had one bulb fail, based on the quantity of bulbs purchased and time used I still feel very good about them. I have a 2003, the color fits the ambiance very well.
My 2-cents!
